This month's goal: Recalibration
Advice from a mental skills coach Vince Duffy ðŸ§
The alarm clocks seem louder these days.
Our inboxes are fuller than you remember.
And now, your morning commute includes a hefty dose of cortisol, forgotten lunch boxes, and market headlines that just can't wait.
School's back.
You're a parent in the capital markets, so you’re back in the ring, juggling Q3 momentum, client calls, and the new school-year shuffle.
It’s a lot.
That’s why this month is all about recalibration.
It's the perfect time to rebuild the mental and emotional routines that help you perform at work and actually be present at home.
To help us, we’re handing the mic to Vince Duffy, founder of EDGE90.
Vince has spent over seven years coaching elite performers, including pros in the NFL, NBA, MLB, and CFL, Division I athletes, and high-performing corporate teams on how to excel under pressure without burning out.

September has a way of testing you.
The pace picks up, the distractions pile on, and before you know it, you’re reacting to the day instead of running it.
The fix for this is one of my favorite pieces of advice I share with my clients...
Reps remove doubt.
Your reps make your best responses automatic.
Here are three quick tips to help you get started:
1. Start with one meaningful rep.
Don’t try to rewrite your entire routine.
Pick one thing that centers you. Maybe it’s three minutes of breathing before the opening bell, and lock it in.
Remember, consistency beats complexity. Do something you can stick with.
2. Build transition reps.
Do your best not to go straight from screens to school pick-up.
Take a few minutes to decompress. Walk. Stretch. Think.
This clears the mental clutter so you can show up at home with the same focus you give your work.
3. Pre-load your stress response.
You don’t rise to the occasion, you fall to the level of your training.
Practice slow breathing, visualize yourself excelling at work and at home, or create a quick mental reset now, so you have it ready when pressure hits.
The more you practice in the small moments, the more prepared and confident you’ll be in the big ones.
I created a quick one-sheeter that keeps these tips and advice in one place.
Print it out. Refer to it. Build on it.
Your mind's a powerful tool. Use it to your advantage!
